Smith said 5 of the 6 medal honorees that day came to the US as immigrants, and rejected VP JD Vance's H-1B fraud claims as "completely off base" — noting most of Microsoft's green-card applicants are long-time employees, and that Microsoft hired 9,000+ US-born workers last year.
